'IronDuke' for all to see on the car park at Toddington railwaay station Glos:- The prototype locomotive, Great Western, was built as a 2-2-2 locomotive in April 1846, but was soon converted to a 4-2-2 arrangement. The remainder of the class entered service between April 1847 and July 1855.

On Day Six of the Grand Tour of Great Britain, West Coast Railway's Class 47/4 No. 47804 is shown working 'The Royal Scotsman' past Whittlesey on 14th July 2010 with Class 47/7 No. 47786 'Roy Castle OBE' on the rear. The day started at the NVR in Peterborough and included a trip to Cambridge, York, a drinks reception at Fairfax House and finally finished with an overnight stop in Scarborough.
